Student riding a horse to college a hit on social media

GOING VIRAL on Thai social media today (August 30) are photos and a video clip of a student riding his horse to a college in northeastern Kalasin province with lots of netizens liking and sharing them, TV Channel 7 said.

It was thanks to Facebook user “Boat” Ekparin Mongkummuen who shared photos and a video clip of the horse-riding student that the unusual sight turned into a social media hit. As people were curious about the student, this TV channel’s reporters managed to reach and interview him.

Mr. Prasert Phuinwong, who is a second year student at Kalasin College of Dramatic Arts, said the three-year-old female horse’s name is Nong Kwan Chai and she belongs to Phra Ajarn at Wat Pa Mai Daeng, Nuea subdistrict, Mueang district. The monk had given her to him to raise a month ago.

He added that he loves everything retro and with petrol prices having risen he decided to ride his horse to college to save money and also cut pollution.

At the college he ties his horse under a tree where there is lots of grass for her to eat. He intends to continue feeding and taking care of her because he loves riding horses.

Sometimes people ask to ride his horse yet there are children who get frightened when they see her.

He was also surprised that the photos and video clip of him riding his horse attracted so much attention on social media.
